A year of 19th

28th April, 2016.
Today is my last day of me being 19. Yes, Tomorrow is my 20th birthday. 
I was trying to think about what was I was doing this time last year, then the picture of me sitting in a classroom and trying to study for my IB finals came up. I remember those 2 weeks of study leave. By that time I already knew I was going to Ecuador so I’d say basically the past 365 days I was thinking about Global Citizen Year everyday. 
A year of 19th for me is a year of Global Citizen Year.

A year of 19th for me is a year of Ecuador. 

A year of 19th for me is a year of being in  Azuay.

A year of 19th for me is a year of being in Cuenca.

A year of 19th for me is a year of growing in Sinincay.

A year of 19th for me is a year of learning Spanish.


A year of 19th for me is a year of trying to be a part of a new family.


A year of 19th for me is a year of building friendships that will last a lifetime. 


A year of 19th for me is a year of supporting fellows fellows that I didn’t know before.


A year of 19th for me is a year of getting support from fellows fellows that didn’t know me before.
A year of 19th for me is a year of learning from the elderly that were born in this small community, lived here since then.


A year of 19th for me is a year of cooking exotic foods.

A year of 19th for me is a year of taking care of young kids.

A year of 19th for me is a year of watching (tons of) football matches.

A year of 19th for me is a year of teaching 2nd graders.

A year of 19th for me is a year of having my host mother as my best friend.

A year of 19th for me is a year of turning a dining table into a drawing class.

A year of 19th for me is a year full of growth. 

A year of 19th, for me was everything I wanted it to be.
A year of 19th me and Global Citizen Year.
