Than Healy

After graduating from Williams College, Than taught history and psychology at the Stevenson School in Pebble Beach, CA. Following a yearlong hiatus from education to play professional basketball in Frankfurt, Germany, he returned to teach at his alma mater, Punahou School in Honolulu, HI, where he chaired the American Studies and Introduction to Social Studies sub-departments. From 2001 until 2013 he worked at the Lakeside School in Seattle, WA, serving as the Upper School Director and Assistant Head of School.  He has served as the Head of School at Menlo School, an independent school in the heart of Silicon Valley, since 2013.

Than holds a BA in History and Psychology from Williams College and an MA in Educational Administration from Klingenstein Center, Teachers College at Columbia University. In addition to his work with the Global Citizen Year board he serves on the board of Peninsula Bridge, an organization dedicated to providing underserved students access to quality secondary school education and college. Than lives in Atherton, CA with his wife and the youngest of his three daughters.
