Malaika is passionate about dance, food, mythology, athletism, reading, feminism, medicine and civil rights movements. Before UWCRCN she volunteered in a public pediatric hospital and in an orphanage and gave support classes to orphans every week. She also was part of a dance club and a track and field club. In UWCRCN, she was involved in the first aid team and worked with patients in a rehabilitation center. She aims at fighting any type of injustices and wants to improve the healthcare and education systems in her country. Her goals for the year are to learn a new language, discover new cultures and ways of living and other education and health systems to inspire her in the future.Her motto is "Be the change you wish to see in the world" - Gandhi
