Throughout high school Andre has been active in the performing arts, graphic arts, and martial arts. He loves writing and performing spoken word poetry, and recently had one of his poems published in a state literary magazine. Andre has invested himself in his community of Columbia, South Carolina, serving as a Columbia Hero with City Year, volunteering with “Get Out the Vote” campaigns, and serving as a Peer Leader with College Summit, Inc. He is also passionate about animal rights, and hopes one day become a veterinarian.
