What Are You?

These are few of my encounters and questions I get as someone with an identity so similar to Senegalese but noticeably different at the same time.

  1. A family/visitor walks into the house. I come out and we share greetings. After the person asks, Ana sa toubab” (Where is your foreigner?) When my mom points to me and explains that the other fellow is not here anymore
