About Oumou Gueye
Oumou Gueye was born and raised in England to a Senegalese father and a Ghanaian mother. She moved to Senegal with her family at the age of 12 for a year before spending five years in New York where she attended the UN international school. After moving several times between London and Dakar, Oumou returned to Senegal in early 2010. As the eldest of three children -and the eldest grandchild in her family- Oumou spent a lot of her youth taking care of others. This fueled an interest in education which led to teaching and mentoring high school students in both London and Dakar throughout the last ten years. She has also spent nine years in the voluntary sector working in community as well as international development where she strengthened her mediation, linguistic and training skills.Oumou holds a BA honours in Social Anthropology with a minor in Development Studies from the University of Sussex in Brighton, England and a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults.
