I am in love with getting dropped off at 7:05 am at the dirt road that separates Cayambe (where I live) and Ayora (where I have my apprenticeship).

I am in love with getting my arms tugged as the girls and boys fight who I play with at recess until 10:40 am.

I am in love with playing soccer with the kids as I have the smallest girls climbing my back as I try to defend the goal at 12:00 pm
I am in love with 12:30 pm when it is time to say my goodbyes and “hasta luegos” for the day while getting tons of hugs and kisses on the cheek from all the children.
I am in love with my hour walk back to Cayambe back on the dirt road that turns into a jog to make it to my little sister’s school at 1:00 pm.
I am in love with the Tienda right across my sister’s school that knows me as the girl that buys 2 pieces of strawberry flavored bubble gum every day at 1:05 pm.
I am in love with watching my little sister run through the gates to attack me with a big hug following a smile when I give her her share of strawberry bubble gum at 1:10 pm.
I am in love with the rush of setting up the tablecloths, napkins, cups, and utensils as we hurry to prepare for almuerzo at exactly 1:30 pm every day.

I am in love with my nap/ yoga/ journaling/ meditation time I take between 2:30 and 3:30 pm on lucky days when I don’t have other tasks I need to do.
I am in love with the full on sprint down a hill with a basketball and tennis because my host sister and I lost track of time and realize we are late for her practice at 4:00 pm.

I am in love with all the laughs when I mess up and high fives when I get something right on the guitar until 8 pm.
I am in love with my host mom yelling “tea is ready.” at 8:10 pm because I get to reunite with all the family once again to debrief my day.
I am in love with realizing it is time for bed at 9:30 pm and giving all my goodnight hugs and kisses without fail to everyone in the room and then escaping into my private space.
I am in love with taking out my braids, brushing my freshly cut hair, washing my face, and brushing my teeth before I slip into my blue and white funky pj’s at 10:00 pm.
I am in love with closing my eyes and dreaming about what the next day will bring.
I am in love.
