As a majority Catholic nation, Christmas is a special time here in Ecuador. Decorations are displayed in the windows of shops as early as late October, and by the first week of November many families have adorned their homes with trees, displays of the Nativity scene, and colorful flashing lights.
And in the spirit of Papa Noel, Christmas also calls for a time of generosity and giving. In conversations with my host family, I learned of a wonderful tradition my host father maintains every December – the gifting of funditas (small bags) of chocolates and cookies to all of the children in our host community. And for this coming Christmas season, my host community would like to request your help in organizing a special treat of sweets for the children in our beloved 12 communities of rural San Pablo. We invite you to get to know our community through our promotional video , and to consider a donation in the spirit of holiday giving – $2 will provide a child with a bag full of holiday treats, and we aim to gift 100 bags of goodies to each community.

The holiday season is a wonderful time to spread the joy of Christmas, and we hope you can join us in providing a special moment for our boys and girls.
We wish you all a Merry Christmas and thank you for your time.
Muchas gracias y te deseo una Feliz Navidad.
Un abrazo grande,
