Dear World,
One week to departure training, and…to be completely honest, I'm scared.
People will tell you that adventures like these are wonderful, exciting, and all together a truly fantastic thing to do. They know about books on the subject, someone they heard in a documentary, and assume that is all there is. They say that they could never do something so brave, so fearless.
I am not fearless.
I am scared and it is EXHILARATING.
Every heartbeat, every bated breath waits in anticipation of something altogether unknown but new and thrilling. Unfamiliar experiences stand in the future waiting to be discovered, waiting for me.
