A Week in the Galapagos

A quick photo summary of our trip to the Galapagos Islands!

Fam selfie in the Guayaquil airport on our way to San Cristobal

One of my favorite parts of San Cristobal was the overwhelming presence of sea lions. We kept finding them in the funniest spots—chairs, porches, sidewalks.

Cindy made friends!

We visited a tortoise reserve during our stay in San Cristobal and got to see firsthand how massive they can get.

Did you know that tortoises don’t actually have shells? The technically correct term is a “carapace”.

Christmas dinner! Merry crepe-mas!

Some of the less-appreciated Galapagos wildlife we met.

We went on a wonderful snorkeling tour one day. We saw sea lions, white-tip reef sharks, and LOTS of fish. We had a blast chatting with the rest of our tour group, and ended up finishing the day with a round of drinks after we got back to Santa Cruz.

M&D enjoying the sunshine during our lunch break after an morning of snorkeling.

One of the famed Galapagos marine iguanas.

Los Gemelos! Two giant craters on the island of Santa Cruz. We were cold and wet, but our taxi driver told us that just a kilometer away is a totally different (dry!) ecosystem due to the geography of the island.

Enjoying some batidos and beers after a long day of exploring the island!
