Molly Lister Weissman

As the VP of Growth, Molly leads media, communications and outreach efforts for Global Citizen Year, to increase awareness of our program and the benefits of a transformational gap year.

Molly joins Global Citizen Year from CNN. She spent over five years producing live coverage for many of the biggest news events in recent memory. Most recently with CNN Tonight with Don Lemon, Molly pitched stories and helped build and execute the show plan for the nightly broadcast. She was part of the team that led the show to double-digit year-over-year audience growth.

Molly planned and took her own bridge year before college (before Global Citizen Year existed). Among other things she worked on a farm in Ecuador, backpacked through the Himalayas in India, taught English in Ethiopia, and ended her year at a school for mentally and physically disabled children in northern Uganda. She says it’s one of the best decisions she’s ever made.

Molly holds a B.S. from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
