Announcing new partnership with Schmidt Futures to Launch “Rise” Program
Over the last year, we’ve worked closely with the team at Schmidt Futures to inform the design and launch of their new initiative to unlock youth talent globally. Rise, an initiative of Schmidt Futures and the Rhodes Trust, is the anchor program of the Schmidt Futures’s $1 billion philanthropic commitment to identify and support global talent.
We are proud to announce that we are a founding partner of Rise. This is a new global talent program seeking to find outstanding young people who need opportunities, and support them for life as they use their talents to build a better world. Rise seeks to identify talented young people, ages 15 to 17, from around the world who have the potential to use their talents to tackle the world’s most pressing issues.
“At Global Citizen Year, we’ve learned firsthand the power of identifying exceptional young people on the cusp of adulthood, and helping them find their people, their purpose and their power to transform the world. This is why we’re so excited to partner with Rise as they bring new resources to unlock talent and potential at a global scale. Working together, we can build a movement to launch the leaders our world needs now.” – AbbyFalik Founder & CEO of Global Citizen Year
The program will build a global community of rising leaders, connecting everyone who applies with peers around the world, free learning resources, and access to additional opportunities from the Rise network of partners. Additionally, each year, Rise will select 100 Global Winners and provide them with a lifetime of personalized support—including scholarships, mentorship, career services, and access to funding to develop their ideas—as they work together to serve others.
Rise is working with a select group of partners globally to identify and support talented young people in communities throughout the world — and we’re proud to be among them!
