On September 21st, Global Citizen Year attended the Clinton Global Initiative as guest non-profit. This is a huge honor and a great opportunity to share our vision with a network of change-makers.
Here is our commitment:
By 2015, Global Citizen Year (GCY) commits to engage 1,000 diverse American high school graduates annually in a transformative global service “bridge year” before college. Through intensive training and a structured apprenticeship in communities across Asia, Africa, or Latin America, each GCY Fellow will develop an ethic of service, fluency in a new language, and an intimate understanding of how the global majority lives. In partnership with colleges, companies, governments, and social enterprises around the world, GCY will unleash a pipeline of emerging leaders to find innovative solutions to the global challenges of the 21st century.
We just got a copy of Abby’s interview at the Clinton Global Initiative produced by Rainmakers Television. In this in-depth interview, Abby describes where the vision for Global Citizen Year came from and where it is today. Let us know what you think below and be sure to share it with friends.
