The VP of Business Development's responsibilities include:
Lead the business development efforts across Global Citizen Year, resulting in a 5-year fundraising output of over $50M.
Develop fundraising strategies across channels (individuals, foundations, corporations, government) and geographies – working in close partnership with programmatic leads.
Manage an active portfolio of High Net Worth donors and prospects.
Cultivate and secure new strategic corporate relationships.
Drive Board Development Committee engagement and work closely with the Board Chair and CEO to shape the composition of the Board over the next era.
Ensure that the CEO, SLT and Board of Directors are deployed and supported in their roles cultivating and stewarding donors.
Represent Global Citizen Year’s work at major external platforms (conferences, donor gatherings)
Maintain standards of excellence in donor cultivation and stewardship through the execution of a few small, but high-leverage, events throughout the year.
Manage the development of marketing materials and messaging that strengthen our case for support.
Ensure smooth and efficient functioning of all Business Development systems and operations -- including Salesforce analytics and reporting, gift administration, prospect research, etc.
Build and lead a high performing Business Development team that generates the majority of revenue for the organization’s 5-year plan
