Recruiter Specialist (China)

About this role

This is a position for trailblazers. We are excited to be launching our first ever international recruitment effort, and the Recruiter Specialist will play a pivotal role in leading this effort. The Recruiter Specialist will develop and implement our strategy for recruiting 40 students from China to enroll in The Global Citizen Year Academy. This role will demand creative thinking, agile tactics, persistence, and a deep understanding of the educational landscape in China. The ideal candidate is one who is experienced in the education consulting landscape in China, understands the cultural social context & is ready to roll up their sleeves and take the lead on securing our first cohort of students from China. This is a contract role starting May and going through September with the possibility of extension.

Spearhead international recruitment strategy

Design and lead our strategy for recruiting our first ever cohort of students from China; attract interested students, steward them through our process, and convert them to committed participants.

Maximize our resources

This position is funded by a grant intended to offer a scholarship to a cohort 40 of students from China. Leverage this unique grant to ensure we find and recruit the highest quality cohort of eligible students and make the most of this opportunity and the resources available to us.

Build partnerships and relationships

Use your expertise and existing relationships to establish and nurture partnerships with the right people, institutions, and entities in China to position our program competitively as a prestigious offering connecting young emerging leaders from around the world.

Be the face of Global Citizen Year

Represent us in an international capacity; be an ambassador of our program while building a steady pipeline of eager students.

Other important characteristics:

  • Highly presentable with strong confidence, communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with navigating the challenges of accessing digital content outside of China for educational purposes.
  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English
  • Minimum of two years of experience in international marketing recruitment, admissions, and/or enrollment in a university setting.
  • Independent judgment and ability to meet responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Bonus points if have/are:

  • Have worked in an education consulting role in China before.
  • Additional fluency in Cantonese Chinese.
