Programs Global Launch Intern (For Alumni / Summer)

The Programs Team exists to create the platform for a unique, immersive and transformative learning experience for all Fellows. As the first major kick-off event of the year, Global Launch is an exciting and meaningful start to Fellows’ Global Citizen Year.

The Global Launch Intern will support all aspects of the creation, planning, and day-to-day execution of Global Launch at Stanford, and will report to the Global Programs Operations Manager. You will play an integral role in ensuring that Global Launch is an impactful and magical beginning of each Fellow’s gap year.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience in conference and event planning and management, including budget and contract management, coordinating logistics, communications, teamwork and customer service, while adding your special touches (as an alumni) to bring the magic to the FY20 Fellows at Global Launch.

Responsibilities

Conference Support

  • Coordinate the planning and execution of Global Launch logistics; both pre-arrival, onsite, and post Global Launch

  • Research, vet, and compare vendors and prepare proposal for awarding final contracts

  • Create and design awesome event visuals, such as signage, and SWAG

  • Create, develop, and execute fun, memorable, and inspiring events at Global Launch: the vision for the Global Launch Welcome Ceremony, Talent Show, and Induction BBQ

Conference Liaison

  • Assist in the management of logistics for each conference day

  • Serve as point person for Fellow check-in and check out at Stanford

  • Serve as point person for staff and speakers

  • Enure all event checklists have been created, checked for accuracy and communicated to appropriate parties

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Analyze survey results from previous Global Launch experience to aid in the execution of the current year’s event

  • Organize event details and assist in purchasing event supplies and materials

  • Maintain accurate expense records for Global Launch

  • Technology Proficient: you are experienced with Microsoft Office Suite and can use it to track expenses, make reports, etc.

Position Details

Details

  • Compensation: A stipend of $2000/month for the duration of the internship (dates below)

  • Time Commitment: 40 hours/week

  • Location: Oakland Office – 1625 Clay St. Suite 400 Oakland CA

  • Time Frame: June 1st – Aug 31st (some flexibility possible for alums with school schedule conflicts)
