Program Associate (Teaching & Learning)

About this role

The Program Associate plays a key role in the implementation of Global Citizen Year’s Academy and Fellowship programs. They create and maintain the library of curriculum and instructional resources to ensure that learners have access to a high quality curriculum and that instructors are well prepared to facilitate high caliber learning experiences.

The Program Associate reports directly to the Director of Teaching and Learning. They will also work closely with the wider Programs team, providing vital administrative support that helps the team perform at the highest level. We are looking for someone who puts students first, thrives in the details and being organized, loves thinking about designing and implementing high quality learning experiences, and sees how these all come together to help the organization have a greater impact.

Your Opportunity for Impact

Curriculum Operations: Create and maintain a curriculum library.

  • Support the maintenance of lesson plans in teaching and learning platform, CourseBuilder, making suggested improvements throughout the course
  • Project manage curriculum development projects throughout the year
  • Create and implement instructional templates including lesson plans, professional development facilitation guides, and instructional resources

Teaching and Learning Data Support: Keep the instructional team informed and focused on teaching and learning data.

  • Manage the systems for implementing student self assessment
  • Gather student self assessment data, formative and summative learning outcome data and report out to relevant stakeholders
  • Gather instructional data and report out to relevant stakeholders

Instructional Administrative support: Keep the instructional team organized and informed so they can operate at a high level.

  • Support instructional needs from the Director of Teaching and Learning, Lead Coach, and Lead Instructor
  • Conduct teaching and learning research, and complete special projects
  • Support event planning and execution, from team gatherings to student and instructor orientation events

The following skills are required:

  • Comfortable using and learning new technology; Enjoys finding new ways to use technology for greater impact
  • Proficient with our basic tech tools - MS Office, Google Suite
  • Effective communicator: written, verbal and Google slide presentations
  • Experience designing and/or implementing learning experiences

Bonus points if have/are:

  • Prior experience writing and implementing lesson plans (formal or informal)
  • Designing and implementing professional development for educators (formal or informal)
  • Experience living and/or working within a diverse and multicultural environment

Please note that the Program Associate (Bay Area) must be located in the San Francisco Bay Area and will be expected to work out of the Oakland office on a regular basis. All other Program Associate roles are remote positions open to candidates in any geography.
