Marketing Manager

About this role

We are looking for a Marketing Manager who will use savvy and innovative marketing to help us find the next generation of leaders our world needs now. As Marketing Manager, you will use digital marketing, sales, and research to expand brand awareness, drive our growth goals, and build and engage our community. The manager will develop and execute direct marketing campaigns, including email, paid search, social media, SEO, and other channels. We believe in rapid iteration, and are looking for a creative and enterprising marketer who can help us grow our brand awareness for all stakeholder groups through data-driven experimentation.

  • Creatively identify new and innovative marketing tactics that will accomplish programmatic growth goals.
  • Develop marketing campaigns that target our different audiences, build brand awareness, and advance goals outside of recruitment.
  • Spearhead our hypothesis driven marketing experimentation, from top of the funnel efforts through lead nurturing and conversion.
  • Invigorate growth through expansion to new markets and audiences.

Drive Marketing Execution

  • Design, lead, and execute marketing initiatives from start to finish across multiple channels (paid ads, paid media, and experiential or non-digital initiatives).
  • Develop a structured approach to tracking & testing so that we can identify and invest in campaigns that perform the best and drive conversion.
  • Manage and implement email marketing campaigns from lead to close.
  • Manage and implement our referral program that currently drives over 30% of our program applications.
  • Manage SEO and paid Social Media campaign performance.
  • Vendor Management, particularly paid social and SEO.

The following skills are required:

  • Proven experience managing a diversified marketing growth strategy, optimizing channel performance to build brand awareness, driving traffic to our sites, increasing leads, and improving conversions.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships to maximize impact and investment.
  • 5+ years experience in a digital marketing role.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data to drive results and surface new opportunities.
  • Previous experience marketing for a youth audience.

Bonus points if you have/are:

  • Previous experience developing, selling, and growing a new product globally.

Position Logistics

Location: Global Citizen Year is headquartered in Oakland CA, but currently our staff is working remotely. We are open to whether this position is based in Oakland or remote.

Start date: We are prioritizing applications received by November 19, 2021; ideal start date is January 22, 2022

Compensation: The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $92,000. We are proud to provide a total compensation package that puts the person first. You can learn more about our benefits here.
