Director of Development Operations

About this role

The Director of Development Operations will play a pivotal role as we embark on an ambitious, new strategic plan with our largest fundraising goal to date. This role will help develop the strategy and processes to leverage our talent and assets to actualize this exciting plan. The Director of Development Operations reports directly to the President/COO with a dotted line to and close working relationship with our Founder/CEO, who is the primary, front-facing fundraiser.

We are looking for an enterprising operator who has a drive for amplifying impact, a knack for system building, and an eye for identifying new opportunities.


Maximize our donor pipeline

Keep the team laser focused on the right parts of our pipeline, at the right time.

Delight and engage our donors

Develop a donor engagement strategy with an eye towards balancing personalized stewardship with scalable plans.

Build a development engine

Build and maintain the fundraising systems that serve as the foundation for our work; help us work smarter, faster, and more efficiently.

Execute our grants management

Ensure we are capitalizing on opportunities and accurately reporting our progress.

Inspire a team

Lead a team to execute against the critical priorities of the department.

The following skills are required:

  • Experience reporting directly to a Senior Leader or Chief Executive.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite and Salesforce CRM systems is required.
  • Proven success in project management, including coordinating with peers to achieve desired outcomes, tracking and reporting on progress, and working cross functionally.
  • 3-5 years of management experience.
