Development Intern (For Alumni / Summer)

The Development Intern will report to the Development Manager and support the Development Team as we engage external supporters and identify the best ways to share Global Citizen Year’s message and work. We are looking for someone who is excited about this position, can manage multiple projects, and will leverage his/her unique experience as an alumnus/alumna to create impact. You will learn the language of fundraising and get a behind-the-scenes look at development communications, operations, and donor stewardship.

Responsibilities

As the Development Intern you will...

  • Support the Development Team by researching new leads and preparing background information prior to funder meetings.

  • Strategize new ways to engage with our growing list of donors.

  • Assist with data management and system use to increase the team’s efficiency

  • Help plan and execute logistics at donor events.

  • Curate Fellow blogs and Global Citizen Year media features for promotion to our network.

  • Assist with creation of donor outreach material (graphic design, writing, photo selection).

  • Help facilitate donor engagement around Program Launch in August so we can leverage the opportunity to share our impact with our biggest supporters in person.

Position Details

Details

  • Compensation: A stipend of $2000/month for the duration of the internship (dates below)

  • Time Commitment: 40 hours/week

  • Location: Oakland Office – 1625 Clay St. Suite 400 Oakland CA

  • Time Frame: June 1st – Aug 30th (flexible for alums on quarter scheduling or who have earlier college move-in requirements).
