Alumni Engagement Summer Associate
The Alumni Engagement Summer Associate is a short term contract role that will serve as the driving engine and support system for our diverse and multifaceted alumni community. This role functions as part of our broader Global Community Engagement (GCE) Program, which provides leadership development, fosters opportunities for connection, and maintains communications for all of our alumni program. The Alumni Engagement associate will champion this work primarily through their management of the Global Citizen Year Community Hub, an all-in-one platform that will allow our alumni to tap in and engage with the broader Global Citizen Year alumni network. We are looking for an expert communicator with adept organizational skills and a passion for fostering community. This role will report directly to the Alumni Community Engagement Manager.
YOUR OPPORTUNITY FOR IMPACT
Management of the Global Citizen Year Community Hub
- Record and share information
- Keep track of and update relevant alumni information (mailing lists, updates, etc.)
- Share alumni accomplishments with the larger team and keep a detailed record of alumni engagement metrics
- Create, schedule and plan content on the main feed as well as on other pages (events, careers, achievements, etc.)
- Engage with alumni
- Understand and keep abreast of the issues that engage and spark curiosity among the alumni
- Coordinate with group admins on content to share in order to facilitate engagement and knowledge sharing among the alumni community
- Respond to relevant requests and inquiries from alumni
- Work cross-functionally with Global Citizen Year departments to engage them in alumni-related work
Additional Communications
- Managing and creating virtual content
- Manage the Alumni Community Engagement social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, and Discord) to foster engagement and drive virtual activity
- Work alongside the media team to build out stories to highlight alumni

The following skills and experiences are required:
- You are a Global Citizen Year alum
- Comfortable learning and using new technology
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to handle confidential information and display sound judgment and ethics
- Proficiency in Google Drive (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Forms) and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel)
Bonus points if you have/are:
- 1-3 years of professional work experience.

POSITION LOGISTICS
Location: This role is fully remote. We are looking for a candidate whose working hours are aligned with time zones between GMT-7 and GMT-4.
Start date: We’re reviewing applications on a rolling basis.
Work Dates: ASAP – September 30, 2022
Compensation: The hourly wage range for this role is $22-26 per hour. This is a part time position, Monday – Thursday for 8 hours each day.
