McKenna is passionate about outdoor leadership, community based volunteering, sociology, and, among other things, mac and cheese. She grew up in Denver, Colorado where she partnered with the Denver Public School district to lead outdoor discovery trips for the city's 5th graders. She then went on to lead her school's National Honor Society and Angels for AP Excellence clubs with the ultimate goal of further engaging high schoolers in their community through meaningful volunteer work. McKenna is excited to meet new people and hear new stories. She hopes to learn how to weave in the traditional Ecuadorian style and be proficient enough in Spanish to compose song lyrics. Looking forward to her journey, McKenna leaves you with this quote by the second secretary general of the United Nations, Dag Hammarskjold: "For all that has been, thanks. For all that will be, yes!"
