Jaxom Moore

Jaxom is passionate about creating a sustainable world. He is involved in local campaigns for education, supporting local foods, and running for fitness. His goals for the year are to expand his own knowledge on what can be done to create a self-sustaining community, as well as prevent other communities from making the same ecological mistakes many other countries have made. His favorite quote is the definition of Program Optimization from Wikipedia " program optimization or software optimization is the process of modifying a software system to make some aspect of it work more efficiently or use fewer resources," using it as a reminder anything can be improved upon.

Walking from the security check to the gate for my plane in PDX airport I was alone. I was more alone than I had ever been in my life. At that hour long moment of torture I had left all my friends in Portland, and I had yet to create new friends at Global Citizen...

Connecting A central theme in my pre-departure training to Global Citizen Year has been connecting with my community, family, friends, new Global Citizen Year fellows and the world. In so many ways Global Citizen Year has helped me connect with…  New Friends In January one of the first things I did after getting accepted to...
