Anna Apilado

Anna is passionate about physics, philosophy, poetry, coffee, nature, and pink sunsets. She does spoken word poetry and truly values the magic of storytelling and connecting. Through her identity as an immigrant and a woman of color, she has learned to walk through this world always trying to advocate for immigrants and fellow persons of color. For her Global Citizen Year, she hopes to increase her Spanish fluency, learn or teach physics, check out the stars by the equator, connect with people, and discover her own ethics of traveling. In the spirit of self-discovery in her global citizen year, one of her favorite quotes by Emily Dickinson is “I am out with lanterns, looking for myself."
